The Summit will convene thought leaders, educators, Black school founders, policymakers, community advocates, and students to engage in critical conversations about the state of education for Black students.

Together, we will explore all aspects of education to ensure our students receive a high-quality, well-rounded education that prepares them for the future.

ABOUT BLACK MINDS MATTER

Black Minds Matter (BMM) is a national movement of education entrepreneurs, policymakers, and advocates who want to emancipate students from the K-12 policies that have failed them.

We work with Black families and school founders to echo their resounding message: Our students need high-quality education options.

WHY OUR WORK MATTERS:

Black families support school choice more than any other demographic, and yet their students are consistently assigned to attend low-performing schools.

Only 15 percent of Black students nationwide are proficient in reading, and only 14 percent are proficient in math. Poor outcomes for Black students persist despite ever-increasing per-pupil funding.

Today, it is easier to beat Stage 4 breast cancer than it is for a Black student to be reading on grade level. We're determined to change these trends.
